Thankful For Small Things.

James 1:17 KJV "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
The amount of money I have made on books in the last year is very insignificant, but every time my dollar amount on Smashwords goes up even a few cents or I sell one book, I am so thankful to God. These little successes would be impossible without God. It's not about the money anyway, it's all about Him and getting our message out there to others. I saw on BN that God's Glorious Symphony received a 5 star rating. I am so excited about that. That is definitely appreciated and makes me happy that others also see God in nature just like the Bible says we will in Romans. He created all of it. There's no way around that. It's just true.

Sooo, here's the deal....be happy about small things. Don't be discouraged if you're not a best seller yet. We all love our own writing, but does God? Do others see Him when they read what we write? That is our goal. Give it time and enjoy each little miracle in your 'author life'. I do now. At first, I was discouraged because I didn't have instant success, but everything happens in God's timing. Rejoice and let it happen!

  2. Amen Pat. I often get discouraged because I want so much to "succeed" for God. Apparently His and my definitions differ greatly. His timing. His will. I have to forget about me and pray for the one lost sheep that He wants me to reach. I plant, you water, He reaps.

  3. That's good, Colleen. Apparrently all of us have a different definition of success than God does. His idea of success is merely to glorify Him for that is why He created us and we get so busy with life, we tend to forget that and strive for success in every other way. I'm glad He is a patient and forgiving God.
